Not quite as gob-smacking as the previous item but no less worrying comes research that reveals that nearly half of UK managers claim to have been bullied in the past year. A survey of 2,300 people conducted by Work Life Balance Centre and Coventry University found that 44 % had been bullied over the preceding 12 months, including 12% of senior managers. Other findings included: « More than one in 10 respondents claimed to have been bullied by their colleagues rather than their manager. « Men were just as likely as women to be sexually harassed by their manager « Bullying most likely in telecoms, IT, engineering, transport and higher education and least likely in the business services, manufacturing and retail sectors.
